Boost Your Brand with Professional Event Photos

Are you making the most of your event photos?

While posting a few highlights right after the event is great, there’s so much more you can do with that gallery, and the best way to sell more tickets to your next event is to create a little bit of FOMO from this one.

Here are some creative ways to leverage your professional event images so they keep working for you long after the event has been packed away.

How to use event photos to drive website traffic

1. WRITE A BLOG POST

People love to read all about the behind-the-scenes action of an event, and blog posts are a great place to work in some SEO phrases. Get extra leverage by sharing the post in your newsletter and on socials!

2. CREATE AN EVENT PAGE

A specific events page on your website is a great place to showcase the amazing community you've built around your business. It can be as simple as an image gallery, but feel free to also add in things like sponsor logos, a supplier directory, attendee reviews and a summary of the event.

3. POST ON YOUR GOOGLE BUSINESS PAGE

Write a short article about the event for your Google Business page - you get bonus points for linking it back to a blog post or event page on your website!

4. SHARE EVENT HIGHLIGHTS IN YOUR CLIENT NEWSLETTER

Share some of the event highlights in your client newsletter.  Add a couple of photos and then link to the online gallery.

5. USE PHOTOS IN CASE STUDIES OR TESTIMONIALS

If your event had a measurable impact, create a case study or testimonial with accompanying images to showcase the results and positive feedback.

How to promote your business with event photos

1. GET PUBLISHED

Put together a feature page of images to showcase your event in your favourite industry publication (printed or online).  If you’re not sure how to do this - reach out to the publication’s content manager with an outline of what you’d like to do. Chances are they’ll be happy to put it together for you.

2. PUT TOGETHER A MEDIA RELEASE

Send it out to your local/regional newspapers with a selection of images. Local rags are always looking for feel-good community content! They may run it as-is, or they might contact you for an interview and turn it into a full-blown profile piece.

3. ADD IMAGES TO YOUR GOOGLE BUSINESS PROFILE

Google loves you to be active on your profile - and there's no easier way of doing this than adding some gorgeous photos to your profile gallery.

4. USE IN PRESENTATIONS OR PITCH DECKS

Whether for potential sponsors, clients, or future event partners, high-quality event photos help visually enhance your presentations.

5. CREATE BRANDED MERCHANDISE OR GIVEAWAYS

Use standout event photos to design custom items like calendars or thank you cards that can be sent to attendees or used in future promotions.

How to reuse event photos for ongoing social media marketing

1. ENGAGE YOUR COMMUNITY WITH A "THROWBACK THURSDAY" SERIES

Post memorable moments from the event on social media over time to keep the excitement alive and maintain engagement. Don't forget to create an event-specific hashtag and encourage your followers to share in their stories.

2. BUILD A PHOTO ALBUM ON FACEBOOK

Create an album to display event highlights, and link it back to your website for added SEO value and ongoing promotion.

3. CREATE A SERIES OF SUPPLIER OR SPONSOR HIGHLIGHT POSTS

Whatever your event, chances are you've collaborated with a handful of other businesses somewhere along the line. A great way to build your online community is to put together a post profiling their business (with a tag of course!) as a "shout-out".

Try this idea with:

  • Sponsors

  • Suppliers (ie: venue, caterer, photographer, AV team)

  • Award winners & finalists

  • Conference/Roadshow Exhibitors

  • VIP guests and keynote speakers
